Event DetailsShort Course Distance: 3.1 mile run - 15.5 mile bike - 3.1 mile run Long Course Distance: 3.1 mile run - 30 mile bike - 6.2 mile run Date: March 16, 2013 Race Start: 10:00am Address: 4512 Weybridge Lane, Greensboro, NC 27407 CourseThe run course is a 5k out-and-back road course that winds heads into the rolling hills of the Sedgefield neighborhood. The second-leg of the long course heads into Sedgefield as well. The bike course heads south from Grandover onto country roads. The long course is basically the short course twice with the turn-around near the transition area. The bike course will not be closed to traffic but will be well-staffed with police at major intersections to ensure participant safety. Entry FeesShort Course: Individual*: $45 through February 23. $55 from February 24 through March 13 (the close of online registration). $65 race-day. 2-Person Relay*: $60 through February 23. $70 from February 24 through March 13 (the close of online registration). $80 race-day. 3-Person Relay*: $70 through February 23. $80 from February 24 through March 13 (the close of online registration). $90 race-day. Long Course: Individual*: $50 through February 23. $60 from February 24 through March 13 (the close of online registration). $70 race-day. 2-Person Relay*: $65 through February 23. $75 from February 24 through March 13 (the close of online registration). $85 race-day. 3-Person Relay*: $75 through February 23. $85 from February 24 through March 13 (the close of online registration). $95 race-day. *Note that a $12 USAT Insurance Fee will be added to anyone without a Current USAT Membership on Race Day. If it is not paid during registration process, it will have to be paid by cash or check at packet pickup. Packet Pick-UpPacket pick-up will be at in the ACC Headquarters parking lot on race day from 8:00am to 9:30am. Timing / AwardsAthletes are chip timed and given 5 splits. Awards for top three overall for both short course and long course. Awards for top three age group placers. Age groups 14 & under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70+. Awards for the top three 2-person and 3-person relay teams for both courses. Points accumulated toward Triad Duathlon Series awards. Points vary by course. Triad Duathlon Series ScoringTo qualify for the Triad Duathlon Series awards, athletes must compete in at least two races in the series. For the short course, overall scoring and age group scoring works as follows: 10 points for 1st, 8 points for 2nd, 6 points for 3rd, 5 points for 4th place, 4 points for 5th place, 3 points for 6th place, 2 points for 7th place, and 1 point for 8th place and up. Competing in the long course will be an opportunity for some additional points - overall scoring and age group scoring works as follows: 14 points for 1st, 12 points for 2nd, 10 points for 3rd, 8 points for 4th place, 7 points for 5th place, 6 points for 6th place, 5 points for 7th place, 4 points for 8th place, 3 points for 9th place, 2 points for 10th place, and 1 point for 11th place and up. Race AmenitiesRace T-Shirts (T-Shirts not guaranteed if you register close to or on race day. They will be first-come first-serve and sizes will be limited). Trek Bike Store bike mechanics available for on-site bike-related emergencies. Post-race food. Partner supplied product samples. Rules / GuidelinesIn the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Information will be available on the race website. Sorry, but for safety reasons, we do not allow headphones on the course. Helmets must be worn for the bike. The Race Director reserves the right to reject any entry or to remove any participant from the race course without explanation. |
