Distance: 2.7 mile run - 12.6 mile bike - 3.1 mile run
Date: March 30, 2013
Race Start: 8:00am
Address: Bermuda Run Country Club, 324 Bermuda Run Drive, Bermuda Run, NC 27006
Run-Bike-Run Duathlon will be hosted by the Triathlon Club of Winston-Salem (TRICOWS). Proceeds from this race will go to help the club educate people in Winston-Salem and the surrounding cities about the benefits of living a multisport lifestyle. If you enjoy cycling and/or running, this is a must do event. You can compete either individually or as a relay team.
While the race will start on the roads of Bermuda Run, races will quickly find themselves on the cart paths of the the East Golf Course (holes #11-18). This will provide for a fun but challenging run to start the race as there will be rolling hills and lots of turns throughout the 2.7 mile course. Once finishing the run, racers will transition to their bikes for a pleasant 12.6 mile ride. There are a couple hills on the course, but over all it is a very enjoyable course. Please note that the roads will not be closed to traffic. Officers will be stationed at every major intersection to ensure the safety of all participants. After the second transition, the final 3.1 mile run takes place primarily on the Riverbend loop that runs around the inside of the Bermuda Run development.
Traffic should not be much of an issue on Saturday mornings. There will be police officers making sure bikers and runners are safe at all major intersections (especially as they exit Bermuda Run on the bike and cross the bridge that links Davie and Forsyth Counties). Directions regarding parking will be both posted and emailed to all racers closer to race day.
